Sexual Trauma Services of the Midlands Announces New Hires and Promotions

COLUMBIA, SC — Sexual Trauma Services of the Midlands is proud to announce a promotion and the hiring of three new staff members.

Mary Dell Hayes has been promoted to Director of Development. This promotion is a direct result of her tireless efforts to increase unrestricted funding for STSM, her willingness to work independently and from a “big picture” perspective, and her dependability. Mary Dell has worked with STSM as the Volunteer Services Coordinator and the Development Coordinator since receiving her Bachelors of Arts degree from the University of South Carolina and is currently working towards her Master’s degree in Business Administration from USC. As Director of Development, Mary Dell will oversee the Marketing Coordinator and continue to promote STSM throughout the community.

Amy Fisher joined STSM in December 2014 as the Advocate Counselor in the Clinical Program. Amy received her Master’s in Counseling from Columbia International University and a Bachelor’s in Communications from the University of South Carolina Aiken. Prior to her work at STSM, Amy worked with LRADAC as the Director of Detoxification Unit. In her role at STSM, Amy provides confidential trauma-focused counseling for survivors of sexual assault.

Provi Borgstadt joined STSM in December 2014 as the Office Manager. Provi received her Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Webster University and her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Southern Wesleyan University. As Office Manager, Provi is responsible for general office management including office administration, human resources, and financial and grants management. Provi also assists the Executive Director with audits required of a successful non-profit organization.

Emily Martin will take the new Marketing Coordinator position in June of 2015 after graduating from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations. She first joined STSM as a development intern in January 2014 to work specifically with STSM’s “Walk a Mile In Her Shoes” and has continued to work as an independent contractor. As the Marketing Coordinator, Emily will work on promoting and implementing STSM’s brand and ensure that STSM is recognized as the leading expert in services for sexual assault survivors and violence prevention education efforts.
