If I’m over 18 but want to date/ have sex with someone under 18, is that legal?

Age of consent in South Carolina is 16 years old. It is considered statutory rape if an adolescent under the age of 16 has sexual intercourse with an individual 19 years of age or older. Regardless of age, any sexual act that is not consensual is considered sexual assault.
