A friend or family member was sexually assaulted, what can I do to help them?

First, believe the survivor. By revealing to you what happened, they are trusting you. Be compassionate and listen to what they are saying. For more information on how to help a survivor, click here to view a STSM blog post on Helping Survivors: A Checklist for Friends and Family.
