Volunteer Advocate Training

Date/Time:
Sunday, September 27, 2015 - 1:30pm to 6:30pm

Our Volunteer Advocates provide emotional support and information to survivors of sexual violence in local emergency rooms, and also answer our 24 hour crisis hotline. The training for this role is a total of 25 hours of training over the course of 6 days (September 26-30 & October 1), and participants typically must attend each day to volunteer in this role. To participate in the training, applicants must have completed the volunteer application process. For this reason, those interested in volunteering as an advocate are encouraged to apply for the training at least 2 weeks in advance. For more information about how to apply and the Advocate role, see the Advocate page of our website or email Volunteer Services Coordinator Alison Salisbury at vsc@www.stsm.org
