Domestic Minor Sex Trafficking Training

Tuesday, April 26, 2016 - 8:00am to 5:00pm

This full day training will focus on understanding, identifying and intervening on behalf of domestic minor sex trafficking survivors. The target audience includes service providers who may come into contact with this population (DSS/DJJ employees, first responders, law enforcement, youth program/organization staff, school counselors, teachers and social workers). Presentation topics include:

  • Overview of Domestic Minor Sex Trafficking
  • The impact of trauma in youth (ACES Study)
  • South Carolina law, statistics and stories regarding DMST
  • ​Case studies and wraparound safety planning
  • Experienced professional reflection on best practices of service providers who work directly with or often come in contact with DMST survivors
