STSM Hosts Walk a Mile In Her Shoes, An Event to Raise Awarness about Sexual Violence

 

On April 14, 2010, Sexual Trauma Services of the Midlands (STSM) will host a Walk a Mile in Her Shoes awareness walk. This walk provides a great opportunity for men to get involved in the fight against sexual violence and in educating the community. Walk a Mile in Her Shoes asks men to literally walk one mile in women's high-heeled shoes to rally the community to fight against sexual violence. STSM’s goal is to help men understand and appreciate women’s experiences, and realize that this is not only a women’s issue. This is also an opportunity for the community to become aware of services provided for survivors of sexual assault.

 

Join STSM as a Stud in Stilettos on April 14th from 6-8pm, beginning at Martin Luther King, Jr. Park in Five Points. Women and children are welcome as well and can wear tennis shoes. Registration is available at www.stsm.org. Early Registration will be until April 4th for $10, which includes an official t-shirt! After April 4th, registration will be $15, and limited t-shirts will be available.
