Music Rockin’, Oysters Steamin’, and Chair Auction for Sexual Assault and Abuse Survivors
Columbia, South Carolina September 8, 2009 – BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina and Sexual Trauma Services of the Midlands (STSM) present live music by Weekend Bender, steamed oysters, a chili bar, homemade desserts, and a unique silent auction of artist-decorated rocking chairs at the University House, 911 Stadium Road, Columbia on October 1, 2009 from 6 pm to 10 pm. The rocking chair themes include Carolina Gamecocks, Clemson Tigers, South Carolina, Ernest Lee’s surfing chicken, Made in America, and Blue Sky designed. Two rocking horses and two children’s rocking chairs will be auctioned off as well.
General Admission is $35, which entitles the ticket holder to all-you-can-eat oysters, chili, and ice cold beer, wine, and sweet tea. VIP tickets are $60. In addition to general admission benefits, VIP ticket holders receive reserved table seating, the exclusive Rockin’ Oyster drink, and a VIP swag bag.

Sexual Trauma Services of the Midlands (STSM), formerly named Rape Crisis Network, is a private, nonprofit, United Way member agency committed to providing free, direct services to survivors of sexual assault and abuse, including 24-hour crisis hotline, hospital accompaniment, court accompaniment, personal advocacy, individual and group counseling, and education about sexual trauma issues.
