Support Groups
- Utilizes the Trauma Recovery and Empowerment Model (TREM) Curriculum
- Offered to men, women, and teens
- Groups last for 16-18 weeks (1.5 hour sessions)
- Focused on the personal impact of sexual assault and abuse through trauma recovery and the development of new coping skills
The Female Support Group is a 16-18 group intervention with topics such as:
- Self-esteem, self-care, and establishing healthy emotional and physical boundaries
- The long term impact of abuse and coping
- New ways of communicating, establishing healthy relationships and making good decisions
- Plan for continued healing/support systems
The Male Support Group is a 16-18 week group intervention divided into three parts:
- Part one – Male messages, emotions and relationships
- Part two – Trauma Recovery
- Part three – Recovery Skills
The Teen Support Group is a 16 week trauma intervention which aims to:
- Enhance key trauma recovery and coping skills such as self-protection, self soothing techniques and maintaining interpersonal boundaries
- Decrease risk of self-victimization
- Strengthen girls overall functioning
