South Carolina continues to rank high in incidences of intimate violence. Youth are especially vulnerable. Costs to the community are enormous. Sexual assault has been identified as the most expensive crime to treat.

Victims of unwanted, violent sexual contact suffer trauma: physical, emotional, social, and financial; immediate and long-term. Those victims – male and female, infants to grandparents, members of all racial and economic groups – find help at Sexual Trauma Services of the Midlands (STSM).

STSM has been providing services free of charge to the Midlands since 1983. Please help us continue to be there for victims of sexual assault and their families in Richland, Lexington, and Newberry counties.
