Speaker’s Bureau
Volunteer POSITION DESCRIPTION
Purpose:
To provide information to community and civic organizations about the
issue of sexual assault.
·
Regard all information about services provided to individuals at STS as
completely confidential
·
Present prepared materials on topics related to sexual assault to agreed
upon agencies/ individuals
·
Represent Sexual Trauma Services and the various services provided by the
agency in a comprehensive and professional manner
·
Keep accurate records and return evaluation forms within 24 hours of
presentation
·
Tolerant and non-judgmental of others’ lifestyles and values
·
At least 18 years old
·
Reliable, dependable, and available during required times
·
Confident communicator and presenter
·
Must have reliable transportation
·
Self-confident about handling stressful situations
·
Support the philosophies of Sexual Trauma Services and represent our agency
and our cause with integrity
·
Regard all information about survivors as completely confidential
·
Successfully complete Speaker's Bureau training program
·
Attend volunteer in-service training meetings
·
Be prepared to provide at least two presentations a month
·
Be responsible for scheduling shifts
·
Remain with Sexual Trauma Services as a volunteer for at least one year
