The mission of Sexual Trauma Services of the Midlands is to provide services to sexual trauma survivors and education about sexual trauma issues.

The vision of Sexual Trauma Services of the Midlands is that we are the agency of choice regarding sexual trauma issues.

Philosophy

1. We respect individuals and their confidentiality, diversity and self determination. We believe in delivering high quality services in a caring and non-judgmental manner.

2. We believe survivors of sexual assault and abuse need information and emotional support.

3. We value open communication, trust, support, autonomy and development which empowers individuals to realize their full potential and creates co-operative spirit.

4. We value our volunteers, their willingness to serve, and their spirit.

5. We believe in working to effect change in societal attitudes and beliefs about the issue of sexual assault and abuse through education and collaboration with other human service agencies and with medical, law enforcement and judicial systems.
